Tubelight collection Day 10: Salman Khan's film is a debacle compared to his other Eid releases

The fortunes of Salman Khan's Tubelight seem to be growing dimmer by the day. Not only did it fail to impress critics, but Salman's fans were also less accepting of their beloved 'Bhai' in a non-macho avatar. As per early estimates, the film raked in Rs 5 crore on Sunday.
Given that earning Rs 200 crore is no big deal for a Salman Khan film releasing on Eid, Tubelight has proved to be a damp squib. It took twice as long as his last release, Sultan, to enter the Rs 100-crore club, and has been on a downward spiral ever since.
Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, is an official remake of the 2015 American war drama Little Boy. It traces the story of two brothers, played by Salman and Sohail Khan, in the backdrop of the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
Here is the day-to-day breakdown of Tubelight box-office collection:
Day 1 - Friday (June 23) - Rs 21.15 crore
Day 2 - Saturday (June 24) - Rs 21.17 crore
Day 3 - Sunday (June 25) - Rs 22.45 crore
Day 4 - Monday (June 26) - Rs 19.09 crore
Day 5 - Tuesday (June 27) - Rs 12 crore
Day 6 - Wednesday (June 28) - Rs 6.50 crore
Day 7 - Thursday (June 29) - Rs 4.50 crore
Day 8 - Friday (June 30) - Rs 3.25 crore
Day 9 - Saturday (July 1) - Rs 4.75 crore
Day 10 - Sunday (July 2) - Rs 5 crore (approx)
Approximate ten-day box-office collection of Tubelight: Rs 119.86 crore
Tubelight also features Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu and late actor Om Puri in pivotal roles. The film has till Friday to run uncontested by any other big Bollywood release, before Sridevi-starrer Mom hits the theatres on July 7
