Katy Perry on Taylor Swift: 'We've Had Our Differences' But 'I Love Her, I Always Have'

Katy Perry is adamant that her bad blood with Taylor Swift is finally over. In a new interview, the "Bon Appétit" singer addressed her now-defunct feud with the 10-time Grammy winner.
"I love her, I always have," Perry, 32, said on Australia's Today show on Wednesday, July 19. "We've had our differences but I just continue to say, 'God bless her on her journey.'"
The pop stars' years-long feud started making headlines again earlier this year after Perry released her single "Swish Swish," which many fans speculated to be about Swift, 27. The song, which appeared to be Perry's response to Swift's hit "Bad Blood," features several insults including, "Your game is tired / You should retire / You're 'bout as cute as an old coupon, expired."
The "Teenage Dream" singer later opened up about the beef during an appearance on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke segment. "It's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it," she said of the former country singer.
Then, Perry surprised fans when she forgave and apologized to her rival during a June 10 interview with Arianna Huffington. "I am ready to let it go," she said. "I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her. ... I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she's a fantastic songwriter, and I think that if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, 'Yeah, well we can do this.'"
Swift has yet to publicly comment on the current status of her relationship with Perry. However, she told Rolling Stone in 2014 that the feud began over a conflict with their backup dancers. "She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," Swift alleged, without naming Perry as the pop star in question.
A source recently told Us Weekly that the "Shake It Off" songstress is tired of the drama: "She honestly wants no part of this, that's why she avoids talking about it. She doesn't want to engage."

Katy Perry Bumps Into Niall Horan, Playfully Calls Him a ‘Stage 5 Clinger’

Hot n cold! Katy Perry uploaded a video on Instagram on Saturday July 1, in which she teased Niall Horan for being a “stage 5 clinger” after the two ran into each other backstage at The Voice Australia.
In the video, Perry smiles and says “Hi” to Horan, who is peering into the camera. “Hi,” he responds. “Again,” she says. “Hello again, nice to see you,” he says, smiling. “You’re following me,” she playfully accuses. “Yeah, everywhere,” Horan responds, making a silly, skeptical face. The post comes on the heels of Katy's claims that Horan seems interested in her.
“He’s always trying to like, get my number, to like, maybe flirt with me. But I’m like, ‘I could babysit you. I’m like your mom!” the 32-year-old joked during a recent interview with an Australian radio show.
All kidding aside, Perry later gushed about the former One Direction singer, 23, saying, ”Niall's amazing, I love him, and I think we feel very connected in a way because I, like, helped him get through The X Factor to join his group. He's become a big star and I'm like, 'Cool, I guess that means I have taste?' I don't know what that means."
The two singers have history together. In 2010, a 16-year-old Horan auditioned on the U.K’s X Factor when Perry was a guest judge. After getting two “yes” votes from judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, and one “no” from Cheryl Cole, Perry gave Horan the third “yes,” sending him to the next round. He was eventually partnered up with One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, and the rest is history.
Horan kindly shot down Perry’s claims when he spoke with Australia’s The Project on June 28 saying, “Katy, please stop being mean to me. She’s just finding any excuse now to just patronize me and go around spreading rumors about me. I just want to be your friend!”

Niall Horan Responds to Katy Perry’s Claim That He Tried to Flirt With Her

Friendly or flirty? Niall Horan responded to Katy Perry saying that the former One Direction hunk is constantly trying to get her number.
Earlier this week, the “Swish Swish” singer, 32, was reminiscing about her time as a guest judge on The X Factor in 2010 when she determined the young singer’s fate on the show. Perry’s deciding vote pushed Horan forward in the competition, where he was later grouped with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik to form One Direction.
"Niall’s amazing. I love him, and I think we feel very connected in a way because I, like, have helped him get through The X Factor to join his group,” Perry told Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa on Wednesday, June 28. “He’s become a big star and I’m like, ‘Cool, I guess that means I have taste?’ I don’t know what that means.”
The pop songstress went on to say that the 23-year-old might be romantically interested in her. “I see him around all the time,” she continued. “He’s always trying to like, get my number, to like, maybe flirt with me, but I’m like, ‘I could babysit you. I’m like your mom!'”
Horan responded to Perry’s flirting claims during his appearance on Australian TV show The Project on Thursday, June 28. “Katy, please stop being mean to me,” he joked. “She’s just finding any excuse now to just patronize me and go around spreading rumors about me. I just want to be your friend!”
He added that their age difference — 9 years — isn’t that drastic. “I mean, she is talking like she is about 55 years older than me,” he said. “She is not that much older than me."
