Let Mahira Khan tell you the truth about dating Ranbir Kapoor
It's been a while since Pakistani actor Mahira Khan was linked with Ranbir Kapoor.
The grapevine has been churning out stories on how Ranbir is completely
besotted with Mahira and how the latter is only too happy to
reciprocate to Kapoor Jr's advances.
However, seems like there's no truth to the rumours. Or that is what Mahira Khan would have you believe.
The actor, who made her Bollywood debut earlier this year with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees, took to Instagram to share a message, with her tongue firmly in cheek. Given her clarification on the
photo-sharing site, seems like Mahira is in no mood to indulge baseless
rumours about her and Ranbir Kapoor.
BollywoodLife quoted a source
as saying, "Mahira is mighty pissed with the reports. Just because she
and Ranbir met for a couple of times and are still in touch with each
other through common friends doesn't mean they are dating!"
Mahira
is mother to a three-year-old boy, Azlaan. She was married to Ali
Askari from 2007 to 2015. Before Raees, Mahira was a household name
because of TV shows like Humsafar.
Ranbir Kapoor, meanwhile, was
just seen on the big screen in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos, in which he
was paired opposite ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Ranbir Kapoor miffed with Rishi Kapoor for comments on Jagga Jasoos failure?
Ranbir
Kapoor is apparently not quite happy with father Rishi Kapoor for his
comments on the failure of Jagga Jasoos and director Anurag Basu.
Ranbir Kapoor seems to be battling a streak of bad luck as far as his last film Jagga Jasoos is concerned. His big break-up with Katrina Kaif
happened while the two were shooting for Jagga Jasoos, the film's
release was postponed several times, and upon release, it has been met
with a lukewarm response at the box office. In 10 days of its release,
Jagga Jasoos has been able to earn a meagre Rs 53.38 crore in India.
The
Anurag Basu-directed film has been in production for over three years,
and finally hit the screens on July 14 this year. The post-release
response of Jagga Jasoos has rubbed Ranbir's dad Rishi Kapoor the wrong
way. The veteran actor lashed out at Anurag Basu in an interview this
morning. Among several other strong statements against Anurag Basu,
Rishi Kapoor called him 'an irresponsible director'.
However, seems like Kapoor Jr hasn't taken his dad's outspokenness all too well.
A
report in BollywoodLife.com has quoted a source close to Ranbir as
saying, "Ranbir did not want another controversy and not when the film
has failed to perform at the box office. His father's comments will only
bring more focus on the film's failure. This episode might cause more
damage to their (Ranbir and Anurag Basu's) already strained
relationship."
Rishi Kapoor told Mid-Day that Jagga Jasoos was completed only a day before its release.
"Till
Wednesday, Anurag Basu was still mixing the film. Can you imagine that?
Pritam [composer] probably delivered the music only a week before. What
can you say?" Rishi said.
Jagga Jasoos was supposed to have hit
theatres in the Middle East on July 13, but the film missed that release
date owing to post-production issues.
"It did not release in the
Gulf on Thursday because it was only delivered to them on Thursday. This
is unreasonable and irresponsible. You may be thinking you are making
the Taj Mahal, but you are supposed to make it ready on time... [It was
later promoted as] a kids' film. But, a kids' film also has to release
at the right time, like during the school vacations. At that time too,
Anurag Basu wasn't ready. There's economics and maths involved.
Everything is not just about creativity," the D-Day actor said.
Rishi Kapoor also brought up incidents from the past where Anurag Basu has been thoroughly unprofessional.
"I
totally agree with Ekta [Kapoor] when she threw him out from her film
(Kucch To Hai). He had problems with Rakesh Roshan while working on
Kites (2010). He's such an irresponsible director that he doesn't
complete the film. It (Jagga Jasoos) was supposed to release three times
in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed," Rishi said.
Jagga
Jasoos opened to mixed reviews from critics. It starred Ranbir Kapoor
in the eponymous role as a teenage detective who embarks on the search
for his missing father while solving one of his mysteries. Director
Anurag Basu ended Jagga Jasoos on a note which called for a sequel, but
given the kind of money the film is yet to recover, investing money in a
sequel doesn't look like a possibility right now.
